The Green Store Vintage Linen Jerome Bag

$45.00 $30.00
Souvenir

We made a bag and we called it Jerome, Jerome is a great little bag for lots of reasons.  You can put toiletries in it, cosmetics even, man products..any small things that you don’t want rolling around your handbag or luggage.

Constructed from Vintage Souvenir Linen Tea towels on the exterior, so no bag is the same!  Waterproof fabric lines the inside – making it easy to wipe out if things get messy; and a tab made with salvaged leather completes this snappy little operator – it’s tough, suave and makes the perfect gift for the discerning traveller.

The lining is waterproof fabric, up-cycled from discarded camping equipment, saving resources from landfill.

As every Jerome bag is made from a vintage linen tea towel, from a collection of as new Australiana souvenir linen dating as far back as 1960’s, if you prefer a certain colour or theme please make a note when you purchase – we can also send pictures on what is currently available.

Made in Trentham

Upcycled, recycled and salvaged materials – just the way we like it.

Approx. 24cm x 11cm x 11cm

What is a Dopp Kit?

A body hygiene kit, more commonly known as a toiletry kit (or alternately as a bathroom kit, sponge bag, toilet bag, toilet kit, toiletry bag, travel kit, wash bag, or wet pack), is a small container, usually a pouch with a zippered opening, which holds body hygiene or toiletry products.

The kits became widely known during the Second World War when they were issued to GIs.  Dopp kit is a term particularly in use in America for body hygiene kits. The name derives from early 20th century leather craftsman Charles Doppelt, whose company designed the case in 1919.  While the case is named after Doppelt, it appears that the case was actually designed by Doppelt's nephew, Jerome Harris.

So we called our "Dopp" Bag Jerome, take that Charles....
