Silver Clove Medicated Balm
40gm reusable tin
I went all the way to India to find Silver Clove medicated balm only to discover it is made in Melbourne. I was lucky to participate as a student myotherapist in a volunteer health care exchange program with Hands on Health and RMIT earlier this year in beautiful Udaipur in Rajasthan. Health supplies and functional amenities are in very short supply at the rural locations we treated in; but I found this tin of balm amongst our kit that had made it's way to India with one of the volunteers, and I must quickly rave how brilliant it is. It is effective in providing relief to constricted and overworked musculature, just enough heat in the balm will provide hours of relief without the burning sensation that many other products may do. Instead Silver Clove feels cool and refreshing slowly heating the area to a comfortable level. Silver Clove is also concentrated so only a small amount is needed to provide hours of relief. It does not stain clothes or bed linen like many other balms, and I love the scent of cloves; fresh, woody and herbal. I would feel confident recommending that most people young and old could benefit from using this balm.
Silver Clove contains Clove Oil which is the dried flower bud from the tree Eugenia Caryophyllus. The name of this tree translated from Latin means "nut leaf" and refers to the nut like flower buds; "clove" is from the Latin clavus, meaning a nail, and refers to the shape of the whole spice. Each tree grows to approximately fifteen meters.
The cloves then undergo a process of steam distillation to produce a thick colourless oil. Clove oil possesses antiseptic, counterirritant and anaesthetic properties making it a popular choice for many toothache over the years.
By blending the therapeutic effects of Clove oil with the essential oils of Peppermint and Cajuput, Silver Clove medicated balm is fabulous temporary relief for tired muscles and aching joints.
