Our Muscle Rub contains Hypericum (St Johns Wort), made by the monks of Europe for over a thousand years. The stunning blood red oil contains powerful anti-inflammatory botanical oils - hypericin and hyperifin, both of which specifically target nerve pain and inflammation. The Hypericum we use is created by collecting the fresh flowers and infusing them in oil as opposed to oil made from infusing the remainder of the plant, often used for anti-depressants.

Historical and Traditional Uses
Reported to aid faster recovery from the symptoms of pain related to – muscles and nerves, headache, backache, neck pain, tight muscles, muscles that ache or are tired from exertion, cramps and spasms. For injury it was applied to relieve symptoms of, and improve healing time from; muscle trauma, sprains, strained and torn tendons, bruising and the swelling associated with muscle and cartilage damage.

The botanical extracts and essential oils were purported to be useful in cases of nerve inflammation, such as sciatica and neuralgia, recovery from wounds/injuries where there has been nerve and tissue damage, muscle and/or joint inflammation, swollen joints, arthritis, gout, repetitive strain injury and tennis elbow.

Contra-indications and Hazards
Avoid sun exposure for 1 hour after use (Hypericum perforatum L (St Johns Wort Oil) causes temporary photosensitivity on the skin)
Consult your doctor if pregnant.
Do not use on young children.
Contra-indicated when taking pharmaceutical blood thinners such as Warfren. Studies indicate that compounds containing salicylates, such as wintergreen, potentiate blood-thinning drugs.
Do not use if you have an allergy to methyl salicylates.
Be aware of individual allergies.
